Welcome to the Avalon Yacht Club!  This year we are celebrating the 70^th Anniversary of the Avalon Yacht Club!  Whether you are a veteran or new member of AYC, we are all so fortunate to share in the many wonderful traditions that have been established over the years at our club.  On this special year, I would like to especially thank those women auxiliary members whose vision and hard work many years ago established some of the women auxiliary traditions that we love and enjoy today such as Bridge, the House Tour and Fashion Show events and Book Club.  These fantastic happenings would not be possible without the support of the women auxiliary members who step up and volunteer countless hours to make these traditions live on each and every summer. Thank you to all!

     The AYC Women’s Auxiliary has something for everyone – reading, bridge, home design, fashion, parties for all ages, and best of all - friendships.  Over these last 3 years, being involved in the women’s auxiliary has enabled me to meet so many new members and friends.  Last summer I became involved in the Book Club for the first time.  I enjoyed so much all of the members I met and the discussions we shared.  Now, I hope I can make many more book club meetings in the years to come!  I encourage everyone to come and become involved in the women’s auxiliary.  The meetings are a great way to learn about what is going on and all that the AYC has to offer.  Through our efforts during the summer, we are able to acquire many “wish list” items for the Club.  In addition, we are able to donate a certain portion of our proceeds each summer to benefit local charities.  There are many friendships and fun times waiting for you!

     You never know where the winds of life are going to take you.  When my husband John and I celebrated our wedding at the AYC 18 years ago, little did we know we would be so fortunate to become Flag Officers of the Club. It has been a very rewarding experience for our family.  Thank you to everyone for your enthusiasm and support during this time.  It means so much.  I look forward to seeing you in Avalon and wish a very relaxing and happy summer to you all!
